BLACK STORYWORK
Black Story Work (BSW) centers story sharing as its primary methodology to gain a deeper understanding of social identity, community development, relationships, and the overall lived experiences of Black people in western Massachusetts. We seek to illuminate the power and value of stories as an essential tool to sustain Black people as they traverse systems and circumstances that are a part of our society. As a new branch of the dynamic work happening at CRJ, the first BSW inquiry is a multi-generational, community-engaged story sharing project in collaboration with the Boys & Girls Club Family Center in Springfield, MA. As our work grows, we seek to weave an accessible, humanizing tapestry that honors the beauty and complexities of Black life.
